One of my favorite things to do is upgrading a simple cake mix with festive ingredients. It’s so great for heavy baking days, when all you have are a few minutes for dessert prep. For Thanksgiving, that means using my cranberry sauce to flavor cupcakes. After filling each cupcake liner with batter, dollop a tablespoon of cranberry sauce into the middle of each and swirl with a toothpick. For an added kick, might I suggest Orange Peel from World Market? This is easily incorporated as you’re mixing the batter. I used about two teaspoons, and let me just say, these Cranberry + Orange Peel Cupcakes were perfect.
