I love summer birthdays. Why? Because my birthday is in August, of course! It was not long ago that I hated having a summer birthday. Growing up, my birthday either occurred when school was out of session, which meant my friends weren’t around to celebrate, or worse off, it was during the first week of school and everyone totally forgot my birthday (except for my best friend since 3rd grade). I know…what a tough life I lived.
Fortunately, things turned around as I got older. A trip to Vegas, sure! My husband throwing me a surprise party, awesome! Learning that I can buy myself a birthday present, oh yeah! But it’s not always about gifts and lavish celebrations. My favorite part about birthdays now is spending time with my loved ones and getting crafty with the gifts I can’t wait to give my friends. Somehow, that’s more meaningful.
So to kick off a month full of summer birthdays, here’s a little DIY from my friend Brooke on how to make a Sprinkles Votive Holder. It’s perfect for candles, flowers or maybe even a few little treats. Your friends will love it, and if you want, you can make one for yourself too. It could even be a fun party craft.

It worked great until the top layer of modge modge. The sprinkles melted and everything is green. So sad. Have to have this done soon. Going Toby a spray clear coat and hope that will take care of the problem.
I’m sorry to hear that. How did the clear coat work? I’d be happy to relay the feedback to the artist to see if she has recommendations.
What size is the votive holder?
