Summers can be quite hot, and the idea of sitting outside to watch fireworks in the sweltering heat just doesn’t seem fun. To relax and stay refreshed, I like to serve a Melon Spritzer. It slightly sweet, but is balanced with club soda. The melon balls are frozen to act like ice cubes and slowly flavor the drink. If you like mint, it goes really well in this spritzer. It totally brightens up the flavors. Feel free to add as much as you’d like.
Overall, this beverage is perfect for adults because its light and refreshing, and it’s great for the kids because it’s just sweet enough to fulfill their cravings of sugary drinks.

- 1 seedless watermelon
- 1 (2-L) Sprite
- 1 (2-L) club soda
- mint leaves, optional
- Using a melon baller, carve out balls of cantaloupe and watermelon, and place on a baking sheet lined with plastic wrap. Transfer to the freezer to sit overnight.
- In a large pitcher or drink dispenser, mix the Sprite and club soda. Add the ice, frozen melon balls and mint (to your liking). Stir lightly.
- Allow the melon spritzer to sit for approximately 15 minutes before serving. This gives the beverage time to merry flavors.
