I was super inspired by Brooke’s creative use of a Sharpie that I thought I’d take it for a spin. And since Halloween is so close, it seemed only appropriate to dress up some food. Of course, I headed to Pinterest for some inspiration and found so many creative ideas. The eggs sparked my interest and away I went.
My first attempt was a near fail, but I learned quickly that drawing on eggs with a Sharpie requires some patience. You should leave the eggs you intend to draw on at room temperature, just long enough that they no longer produce condensation. Any form of moisture will create a barrier that does not allow the Sharpie to adhere. However, once an egg is at mostly room temperature, you can easily doodle away.
Ghosts and mummies are quite easy to draw. To give them a bit more expression, add eyebrows or an interesting smile. There’s no need to be perfect. In fact, I think a little imperfection creates better Halloween eggs.
Be creative. Have fun.
