The second piece to my growing collection of Jillian Schimmel Ceramics, this prep bowl is the perfect size for a pinch of salt, sprinkle of shredded coconut and a serving of vibrant green peas. When choosing this piece, I imagined preparing wonderful meals and of course, enjoying a perfect scoop of ice cream. If anything, its charming size will keep me in touch with maintaining my health.
Speaking of which, I was at the gym the other day, and between sets I glanced up at the television to read the scrolling tips. Among the suggestions was a food tip about eating more color. Did you know that filling your plate with more color makes you eat less? It creates awareness of the quantity of food you are consuming and ensures you incorporate healthier ingredients. Good to know!
Back to the original topic – this prep bowl is the beginning of my search of more picturesque food props. This weekend I am heading to the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market just for that purpose. I hope to discover new local vendors with classic dinnerware, vintage utensils and interesting glasses for me to purchase. My style lends to French industrial, so you can bet metal platters and rustic wooden bowls will be among the pieces I will be in search of.
For now though, this bowl is quite beautiful, and I can’t wait to capture some wonderful meals and memories with it.
