Just sharing some great French eats that were flown in from New Jersey to my home. I know – NJ is not very French, but D’Artagnan is. D’Artagnan is one of the United States’ most respected charcutiers that has been creating French specialties for more than 25 years. What a great job! Making French food stateside…now that sounds fun.
When my package came, I was thrilled that it arrived still chilled. Thank goodness the summer heat didn’t get to it because I would’ve missed out on this wonderful selection of meats, butters and pates. To beef up the variety of carefully selected foods, I added sliced baguettes and cheeses to compliment the spread. This was a meat and cheese platter I was quite proud to serve my guests.
While everything was spectacular, my favorite combination had to be a spread of black truffle butter on top of a baguette with jambon. Boy, did it just melt in your mouth. If you’ve not had jambon before, think of it as a less salty version of prosciutto. If I had to choose, I think my preference would be jambon.
Oh French eats, you make my belly happy.
