I decided to crank up the oven this week and bake something sweet. Is it me or does the thought of baking just make you all warm inside? I would say it reminds me of baking cookies growing up, but that would be a lie. There’s no baking really in Vietnamese foods; steaming and frying – yes. Regardless, the scents that waft from an oven as a sweet something is baking away is just enough to make even the fullest stomach grumble and your mouth salivate from the eagerness of waiting for your treat to be done. There’s nothing like it.
