So the hubby and I are about to embark on a new chapter in our lives – buying our first home. While it’s exciting, I’m quite nervous. There are so many things I’m sure I don’t know when it comes to maintaining a home, but with all the HGTV I’ve been watching, I should be okay right? Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope together that everything will go without a hitch. In an ideal move, the pups would love their new home, we won’t have any broken dishes, my stand mixer would make it safely into the new kitchen and we will have the home put together in about a month. Wishful thinking I’m sure, but a little optimism goes a long way. I can tell you this, after being delayed 3 months on closing this home (the result of uncooperative others – I won’t say who, but can tell you it wasn’t us), we can’t wait to stop living out of boxes. I have to get back to my regular baking – it’s driving a girl nuts!
Anyways, with moving being so close, I can’t help but begin thinking about how we’re going to feed our movers. Whether it’s friends and family or hired movers, I must keep everyone nourished and energized to ensure this moving experience is pleasant for us as well as all our thoughtful helpers. I researched ideas just in case and stumbled across some great suggestions here, here and here. Now, to use these ideas and come up with something yummy for my group. If you need a little help as well, here are some recipes and ideas I think are great for moving day. Oh, and don’t forget plenty of water.
Joanna,
You are going to LOVE owning a home! I’m sure it will be beautiful, and inviting. 🙂 Don’t get frustrated if you are not completely settled within a month, however that is a great goal. We definitely took our time, but we had some large projects to complete as well. There is always a project on the horizon now, but nothing major. I hope your move goes a smooth as possible! Hopefully we can get back out there soon and stop by for a visit!! Keep those movers fed and hydrated and they will be happy.
We are so excited and do hope you will be able to make it out again with your little one to visit. We would love to have you over and actually have dinner.
Ben and actually sat down to evaluate our project list and put it all into perspective last night and you are right, there is no rush. Just making sure it’s on the list to be completed as we settle in.
We hope maybe we’ll be able to come out to visit you guys one day. We would love to see your new home and all the fun projects you’ve been working on.
